Marine Blade Indoor Model Antenna

FEATURES

Gain: 3 dBi
SWR: 1.5:1 or Less
Pattern: Omni-directional
Wavelength: 1/2
Elements: 1
Tuned: 156-158 MHz
Band: VHF Marine
Connector: BNC Male
Cable: RG8X
Cable Length: 18 Feet
Height: 54"
Width: 1 1/4"
Depth: 3/8"

Unique Design: This antenna is designed for anyone who's interested in getting good performance on their scanner or radio, but isn't able to use an outdoor antenna. This is a great antenna for people who live in apartments or condos. The Blade can also be used as a travel antenna, or even outdoors for short periods of time.

Tuned to Marine Band: Each antenna is tuned to the VHF Marine Band centered at 157 MHz.

Ready Made: There's no assembly necessary and 18 feet of coax (with BNC connector) is included. (Email to possibly request other connector types.)

Easy to Position: The beauty of the way this antenna works, is the fact that you can position it anywhere. Unlike using a rubber duck, you can find the one good spot in the room that gets the best reception, but still put the radio anywhere you like. This can also be helpful if you're trying to move the antenna away from RF producing devices. There's also no ground plane elements sticking out to poke you. The antenna can easily be hung using the two loops on the back.

Unobtrusive: The Blade design is very slim and stealthy. The antenna is only 1 1/4" wide and a mere 3/8" deep. It can easily be hidden behind blinds, but is also attractive enough to be displayed in clear view. The antenna's bright white enclosure blends right into the surroundings.

Copper Elements: Elements are copper clad, which is a better element material than stainless steel.

Narrow Bandwidth: The bandwidth for the antenna is fairly narrow, which can help to eliminate intermod problems from adjacent strong signals in urban areas.

18' of RG8/X Cable: This cable is better for longer lengths than the average off brand RG58 cable included with most antennas (if any), and helps prevent signal loss.

Direct Feed Point Connection: The coax is directly connected to the antenna elements, which means there's one less connector between your radio and the antenna. Each additional connector can create signal loss.

Marine AIS Vertical Model Antenna (Automatic Identification System)

FEATURES

Gain: 3 dBi
SWR: 1.5:1 or Less
Pattern: Omni-directional
Wavelength: 1/2
Elements: 1
Tuned: 161-162 MHz
Band: VHF Marine AIS
Connector: N Female
Cable: RG8X
Cable Length: 12"
Height: 57"
Width: 1 1/4"
Weight: 1 lb 11 oz
Wind Area: 0.50 Sq Feet

Ready Made: There's no assembly necessary, or extra mounting parts needed.

Tuned to Marine AIS: Each antenna is tuned to the VHF Marine Automatic Identification System (AIS) at 161-162 MHz. With the proper receive equipment, this allows you to track ships in your area. This antenna can also compliment a system setup for linking to an online virtual network, such as PinkFroot's ShipFinder.

DC Grounded: A metal ground plane is not needed with this design.

Enclosed Elements: The actual antenna elements and feed point are sealed inside a UV resistant plastic radome. No need to worry about corrosion on the elements with this design.

Weather Resistant: Having the elements and feed point sealed in the radome allows the antenna to be very resistant to weather and other environmental damage. This antenna is strong enough to withstand an ice storm, and will also do well in a shoreline environment.

Copper Elements: Elements are copper clad, which is a better element material than stainless steel.

Marine AIS LP Model Antenna (Automatic Identification System)

FEATURES

Gain: 9 dBi
SWR: 1.5:1 or Less
Pattern: Semi-directional
F/B Ratio: 18 dB
Wavelength: 1/2
Elements: 6
Tuned: 161-162 MHz
Band: VHF Marine AIS
Connector: N Female
Cable: RG8X
Cable Length: 72"
Length: 48"
Front Height: 19"
Back Height: 37"
Weight: 4 lb 3 oz
Wind Area: 0.53 Sq Feet

Flexible Design: Unlike Yagi designs, the LP design has more useful lobes to the sides and back. This gives the antenna a better 360 degree omni ability, with the added benefit of gain in the direction it's aimed. Why use a unity gain discone or ground plane, when you can have omni ability and directional gain as well with the LP.

Tuned to Marine AIS: Each antenna is tuned to the VHF Marine Automatic Identification System (AIS) at 161-162 MHz. With the proper receive equipment, this allows you to track ships in your area.

Wide Bandwidth: The nature of the LP design offers a wide bandwidth. Not only is it wide in the band it was designed to operate in, but it also does pretty well in nearby bands. This will help if there's other bands you're interested in. The AIS LP can also receive in the Marine Voice band.

Solid Construction: The antenna is constructed of twin 3/4" square aluminum tube for the booms, and solid 1/4" aluminum round is used for the elements. The boom is very stiff, as are the elements. 1/4" stainless bolts and lock nuts are utilized, not flimsy dimple rivets. The entire antenna is carefully hand crafted and all aluminum is given a brushed finish.

Weather Resistant: All fasteners are stainless steel and UV resistant cable clips are used to hold the coax to the boom.

High Quality N Connector: Instead of the usual UHF connector that's included with most antennas, this antenna includes a 50 ohm female N connector. N connectors are more water resistant and handle high frequencies better. Need help choosing your main cable? Checkout the Coax FAQ

Horizontal Mount: A horizontal mast piece consisting of aluminum plate is included with the antenna. This acts as a stand-off and allows the the antenna to be positioned away from your mast in free space and vertical polarization.

Electrically Isolated: The antenna is electrically isolated from the horizontal and verticals masts.

Mounting Hardware: The necessary hardware for attaching the antenna to any standard 1 1/4" steel mast is also included. Just prepare your mast and you're all set to go.

Only Partial Assembly Required: The boom is completely assembled, along with the feeder cable and mount. The only things that need to be done yourself are attaching the elements, and putting up a mast.
